THE AYO FULANI HAT
THE AYO FULANI HAT
AYO - (ah-yo): JOY in Yoruba, one of the major languages of Nigeria.
And joy is exactly what she brings.
Handwoven in the centuries-old Fulani tradition, THE AYO is our tribute to sun, craft, and unapologetic presence. Meticulously braided by hand from natural raffia, each hat takes days to complete. No two are exactly alike.
15 inches of pure, floating drama. Light as air, bold as audacity. This is not a sun hat - it's a state of mind. The one you reach for on boat days, pool days, and every day you want to feel like the main event.

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR AYO
We believe in transparency, because heirloom pieces should fit perfectly.
CROWN: 24" around the inside - One Size, designed to sit comfortably on a 21.5"-23" head. The raffia has a natural give and will mold slightly to you over time.
BRIM: 15" of pure drama, measured from crown base to brim edge.
TOTAL DIAMETER: ~32" as worn with natural drape, ~39" when measured flat and stretched. That’s the full tip-to-tip presence.
Handmade means slight variations of 0.5"-1" are normal - that's the beauty of a human-made hat.
